2026

Overview
To conceptualise and build a comprehensive, 360-degree brand identity for a contemporary 'Third Place' - specifically engineered to dismantle social isolation and foster authentic community connection around a single, powerful proposition.
Issue
Every week in the UK, 2–3 infants under the age of two lose their fathers to suicide. The transition into parenthood frequently causes men to lose their existing social infrastructures, leading to acute isolation, suppressed mental health struggles, and a devastating demographic crisis.
Insight
Data reveals a dramatic behavioural shift: 90% of men spend their primary social time before fatherhood at the pub with peers, whereas 90% of men after becoming fathers spend that same time isolated at suburban parks with their children. The core strategic opportunity lies in intersecting these two environments.
Solution
The Play Inn - A purpose-driven pop-up pub concept situated directly within community parks. By intercepting isolated fathers exactly where they are already spending time, the identity lowers the psychological barrier to connection; creating an approachable, stigma-free environment for peer-to-peer support.
